Tahirah Walker, PhD

Tahirah Walker is an assistant professor in the Department of Community Engagement & Leadership at Point Park University's Rowland School of Business, where she brings a deep love for learning and connection to her work. With a Ph.D. in Communication and Rhetorical Studies, Tahirah’s academic focus spans pay equity, community engagement, and Black cultural media studies. Her heart beats for celebrating the accomplishments and everyday lives of Black womxn and girls.

An avid lover of books, music, and visual art, Tahirah draws inspiration from creators like Deesha Philyaw, Brian Broome, Kiese Laymon, Yona Harvey, Stevie Wonder, Kara Walker, Reyna Noriega, and the legendary Whitney Houston. When she’s not immersed in her research or teaching, you’ll find her savoring tea, cherishing time with her beautiful, supportive family, and filling her world with joy, resistance, and stories that matter.
