As the founder and executive director of FashionAFRICANA, she has spent over two decades celebrating Black beauty, African heritage, and artistic innovation. Through exhibits, galas, and educational programs, Demeatria creates cross-cultural connections and uplifts Black creatives, bridging the African Diaspora with communities in the United States.

From hosting the acclaimed AFRICANISM Gala to showcasing iconic works like Ruth E. Carter’s costume retrospective, Demeatria’s work goes beyond fashion. She has been featured in Essence Magazine for her impactful contributions, including redefining beauty standards, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring the next generation of artists and leaders. A recipient of numerous accolades, she continues to be a force for equity and creativity in Pittsburgh and beyond.
